Dr. Dickey Richard Marak, born and brought up in Assam to a family of Doctors, he did his MBBS from Gauhati Medical College. Following that he pursued his dream of specialising in Orthopedics in the prestigious PGIMS ( post graduate institute of Medical Science), Rohtak, Haryana which is one of the most prestigious and sought after institute for post graduate training in India and has been the Alma Mater of many pioneers in the field of Orthopedics. After his post Graduation he went on to further increase his knowledge and skills by working as a Senior Resident in the Department of Orthopedics in Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi for 3 years. Both during his post graduation and Senior Residency period he had the fortune of working under the guidance of famous academicians and renowned Orthopedic Surgeons. These formative years had a great deal to contribute to shaping him as an Orthopedician with knowledge and skills. Even after his Senior Residentship he did not stop his quest for learning further and newer techniques and hence he went for fellowships in EKH, Vienna, Austria where he worked under Dr Thomas Mullner one of Europe's leading Minimally invasive Joint Replacement and Sports Injuries Surgeon. He learned the latest techniques of minimally invasive Joint replacement and Arthroscopic surgeries of the Knee and Shoulder. He also did a fellowship from Safdurjung Sports Injuries Centre, New Delhi. Apart from that he has done training courses under leading Orthopedic Surgeons in Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Mumbai and has kept himself updated on the newer and better techniques of Surgery and Treatment. In 2014, he decided to come back permanently to his Native place Assam and he joined Narayana Superspeciality Hospital. Since then he has been working relentlessly and sincerely in serving the needs of his patients and has successfully performed over 3000 surgeries including Complex Traumas, joint replacements and Arthroscopic surgeries. Approachability to his patients, a kind and calm attitude are his strong forte apart from his spotless academic career and he is a fine addition to the Orthopedic field in the entire Northeastern region.
